As a faculty member at a liberal arts college, I am committed to promoting undergraduate research, defined by the National Council on Undergraduate Research as, “an inquiry or investigation conducted by an undergraduate student that makes an original intellectual or creative contribution to the discipline.”

Illinois College students are involved at all stages of the American Athena project, both inside and outside of the classroom. Not only does undergraduate research enhance my own professional practices, but it also provides hands-on training and prepares our students for a highly competitive marketplace.
