I am a historian of the American Midwest and a professor at a historic liberal arts college.

My work examines the intersections of community, geography, gender, and material culture, giving voice to diverse experiences and perspectives.

In my classroom, students create, interpret, and curate the past in service to their community, developing skills in research, analysis, and public engagement. Through hands-on projects, they learn that history is not just something to be studied, but something that can actively shape and inform the present.
